Start with what you’re building

Panels to the finishing pieces.
Get the whole picture.

A good material list goes beyond the big sheets. Compare your profile, choose a finish, and bring the edges, supports and accessories into the same conversation.

We’ll help you sort it out.

ASAP Metal Components began in 2010 with a straightforward focus: metal roofing and building components for homeowners and contractors. Our Harvey shop brings fabrication and material supply together, so a standard panel order and an unusual trim detail can start with the same practical conversation.

Some customers arrive with a complete takeoff. Others bring a worn part, a phone photo, or a sketch drawn at the kitchen table. Either way, the useful questions are much the same: what does the piece need to do, what must it connect to, and which details have already been confirmed?

We can discuss roof and wall panels, structural components, finishing trim, fasteners and custom sheet-metal work. If the job includes a building package or an awning, tell us early. The intended use changes the information needed to prepare a clear request.

Low-Profile 5-Rib panel in Rustic Red

See the shape. Find your finish.

Your panel choice
starts here.

A color name only tells part of the story. The panel’s rib pattern, the way adjoining sheets meet, and the trim that finishes the edges all matter to the finished result. Our interactive materials page lets you switch between two distinct profiles and see the selected finish on the corresponding panel.

Use the selector to compare a light finish, a dark contrast, or a color that works with an existing building. Save your choice with the material notes. If you are matching an older roof or wall, include a close profile photo and a wider view, because weathering and lighting can make an older finish look different from a new sample.

The thirteen preview finishes include Galvalume, Polar White, Black, Cocoa Brown, Light Stone, Sahara Tan, Desert Sand, Ash Gray, Charcoal Gray, Burnished Slate, Fern Green, Hawaiian Blue and Rustic Red. Ask us to confirm the current finish and product combination before you order.

A clearer inquiry. Fewer loose ends.

Bring the details that
make the difference.

You do not need to know every industry term to get started. A useful list separates what you know from what still needs a decision.

Show the project

Tell us whether you are planning a roof, wall, building, fence, canopy or replacement part. Include the city or ZIP code and the relevant drawing or photos. A picture of the whole area helps explain how individual parts connect.

For an existing panel, add an end-on view of the ribs and edge laps. For custom trim, show the piece in position as well as the shape itself. Stay on the ground when photographing anything that would otherwise require unsafe access.

Separate sizes & quantities

List each length and its quantity on its own line. Keep feet and inches clearly marked. Distinguish a building dimension from an individual cut length, and flag measurements that still need checking by your installer or designer.

For a bent part, include every leg, angle, hem and return. Mark the color side and orientation. An apparently minor missing bend can change how a part fits, so a dimensioned sketch is often the quickest way to avoid confusion.

Include the connections

Think through the supports, fasteners, closures, sealants, trim and transitions alongside the panels. At ridges, edges, corners and openings, the detail needs to work with the rest of the assembly.

Bring the applicable plans or product instructions. We can discuss the material request, while your project designer or installer confirms the design and installation requirements. Save the final agreed list before manufacturing or collection is arranged.

Custom work for the details a standard piece does not solve

A special opening, an unusual transition or an older building often needs more than a generic part name. Our custom manufacturing offering includes special trim and components, canopies, fascia systems, louvers and roof jacks. Start by showing what the part has to connect to and what you want it to accomplish.

A sketch should show the cross-section as well as the overall length. Add the material and finish you are considering, the quantity, and any clearance or fit constraints. If there is an existing sample, note where it is bent, worn or damaged so the replacement is based on the intended detail rather than an accidental distortion.

Our Harvey shop brings a 21-foot hydraulic brake and in-house roll forming to the work. The size and feasibility of a particular item still depend on its shape, material, tooling and handling. Confirm the current fabrication limits and final drawing with us rather than treating a machine length as approval of every possible part.

For a custom New Orleans style awning, bring the opening dimensions, mounting context, appearance you have in mind and site photos. Ask about the metal, copper, aluminum or canvas options appropriate to the design. The final scope should make the supplied work, supporting details and responsibilities clear.

Building from the Westbank to wherever your project takes you

Our business address is in Harvey on the Westbank. For a nearby project in Gretna, Marrero, Westwego or the wider New Orleans area, start with the same useful information: location, intended use and the actual materials required. A local name does not replace a complete delivery or collection plan.

For Gulf South projects, tell us about the site conditions and any project specifications that affect the order. Wind design, exposure, corrosion considerations and attachment details should be resolved through the applicable design and product documents. A metal panel’s appearance alone does not establish its suitability for every coastal application.

Our building information also covers supply within the continental United States. Ask about the current arrangements for your destination, order size, access and unloading. Freight is specific to the job. We will not treat an online inquiry as a shipping commitment or assume that every material can be handled in the same way.

Know what is included before the work starts

A useful quote describes the product, quantities, finish and dimensions clearly. It also separates the material package from freight, taxes, accessories and work provided by others. For a building, keep the proposed use, required openings and project-specific design information with the quote so changes can be reviewed against the same scope.

Before confirming an order, review the profile and finish, cut lengths, trim details and supporting items with the people responsible for the project. Ask for the applicable specification and warranty documents. Save those records, along with the final list and any approved drawings, so collection and installation begin from the same information.

Ready to get moving? Use the material selector, make a checklist, or call our Harvey team. We would like the opportunity to help make your next roofing, building or fencing project go as smoothly as possible.

Bring us your material list ↗

A material list you can use at the shop

Keep one current version of your list and date the revisions. If you change a panel length, check whether the matching trim or quantity also changes. If a drawing has several revisions, identify the one that controls the current request. A clear revision note is more useful than several conflicting screenshots.

When collecting a custom part or a longer panel order, discuss vehicle capacity, protection and handling before the collection is arranged. Give us the order information so the team can confirm what is ready and how the material is packaged. Do not assume an inquiry has placed material into production.

For a repair, avoid choosing a replacement from a top-down color photo alone. The cross-section, overlap edge and nearby details can reveal differences that the finish hides. If you cannot safely access the area, ask the person responsible for the work to provide the needed measurements and photographs.

Good questions. Straight answers.

Before you order

Still working out the details? Call 504-347-2727. We can talk through what to bring and what to confirm.

Where is ASAP Metal Components located?

Our shop is at 1201 MacArthur Avenue, Harvey, Louisiana 70058. Call 504-347-2727 before making a special trip for a particular item, custom order or collection. We can confirm the material details you need to bring and help you plan the next step.

Do you work with homeowners as well as contractors?

Yes. Whether you are putting together a contractor’s material list or trying to identify one replacement part for your own project, start with the use, measurements and a few clear photos. We will discuss the materials and details that need confirmation before ordering.

What types of metal panels can I ask about?

Our panel information covers R-Panel, PBR, low-profile and standing-seam options. The interactive selector shows the corrected Standard R-Panel and Low-Profile 5-Rib shapes in the displayed finishes. Ask us to confirm the exact product, dimensions, finish and availability for your application.

Can I compare colors online?

Yes. Open Materials & Colors to switch between the two preview profiles and thirteen finish choices. Screens, lighting and reflections affect appearance. Use the preview to narrow your choices, then confirm the physical finish and applicable product before placing an order.

Can you make custom trim?

We offer custom sheet-metal manufacturing and trim. Bring a dimensioned sketch showing each leg, bend, angle, overall length, quantity and the finished side. A photo helps explain the installation, but it does not replace dimensions or confirmation of the final fabrication detail.

What should I include in a material inquiry?

Include your contact details, project location, intended use, profile, finish, lengths and quantities. Add trim, closures, fasteners and sealants where relevant. Tell us which measurements are confirmed and which are still being checked, so a preliminary discussion is not mistaken for a final cut list.

Can you help identify an existing panel or trim part?

A clear end-on photo of the profile is a useful starting point. Include the wider roof or wall context and measurements taken safely. Similar-looking parts can differ in important ways, so identification and compatibility should be confirmed before ordering replacements.

Do panels come with every accessory I will need?

A panel selection alone does not define a complete material package. Roof edges, ridges, valleys, wall intersections, openings and transitions may each need different details. Bring your plans or a sketch so trim, closures, fasteners and other accessories can be discussed together.

Can you supply a metal building package?

Our building-system offering includes metal buildings and mini-storage projects. Share the proposed size, use, site location and required openings. The project-specific quote and documents should identify the supplied components, applicable design requirements and responsibilities for work outside that package.

Do you ship outside the New Orleans area?

Our building information includes shipping within the continental United States. Freight depends on the specific order and destination. Contact us with the location, access conditions and unloading needs so the current supply and freight arrangements can be confirmed for your project.

Is an online material list an order?

No. The selector and material-notes tool help organize your choices. An inquiry starts a conversation; it does not reserve stock, approve dimensions, schedule manufacturing or create a price commitment. The final scope, pricing and order details must be confirmed with ASAP Metal.

Where can I confirm specifications and warranty coverage?

Use our specifications and warranty resources as a starting point, then request the documents applicable to your exact product and order. Finish warranties, structural design requirements and installation responsibilities are different subjects. Keep the confirmed documents with your project records.
